Lots of names are being kicked around and LeVar Burton seems to be getting a lot of support. Burton may best be known as the host of the PBS educational show "Reading Rainbow", starring as Geordi La Forge on "Star Trek: The Next Generation", and starring as Kunta Kinte in the mini-series "Roots". There are other possible replacements being bantered about such as Ken Jennings (Jeopardy champion), Rosie Perez (I guess since she played a woman obsessed with becoming a contestant on Jeopardy in the movie "White Men Can't Jump"), Joe Rogan, and ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos. Personally, I like the idea of LeVar Burton as "Jeopardy!" host. Anybody else you would consider?

I love Joe Rogan but I can't even imagine him in the role, and he has so much podcast money now that I don't think he'd get out of bed to do a syndicated TV show unless he's some huge "Jeopardy super-fan and I don't know about it.

Ken Jennings has the personality of a wet mop, but I think he would be considered a credible host. Rosie Perez would cause anybody over the age of 60 (which, let's face it, is their core audience) to tune out. Rogan has a good voice but is too controversial and they don't want that. Even though it's syndicated, isn't it somehow a part of the ABC/Disney family? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mega name.

It is distributed by Sony but I think Sony has some sort of affiliation with ABC since "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" are on the ABC Affiliates here in the MD/DC/VA area. If there is a connection to Disney, maybe Bill Nye "The Science Guy" as a possible host?

They've spent all season with whole categories of Ken Jennings reading clues. They're clearly preparing him, and the audience, to takeover as a host. I'm not a fan. I don't think the guy has the personality to pull it off. I'd love Mike Rowe in the role. He's got the same laid back, blue collar, intelligent charm that Alex Trebek had. A strong speaking voice, too, which is needed when you're reading 61 clues a night. But yeah, it'll be Ken Jennings, and it'll blow.
