So how does “Umbrella Academy” deal with this? Are they allowed to continue to portray her as a girl and let her act like actresses, um I mean actors, do. Or is that transphobic now? Season 3 begins filming in February.

He will be the first person to be nominated at the Oscars as both an actor and an actress. I'll be bumping this thread in at most three years' time. From Twitter reactions, Netflix and the makers of Umbrella Academy. Netflix bends over backwards to be inclusive, so I think they will incorporate this into the character. Really, who cares? Doesn't affect me in the slightest.

On another note, this "they/their" thing needs to change. I think there's already a made-up pronoun "xe" to cover this, and I'm fine with that. But stop fucking up grammar. A trans person is not plural and no matter how many times I read it, it never stops sounding stupid.
