Living in likely the 2nd coldest place on the planet outside of Siberia it certainly isn't winter. Different from when I was a kid and we would play hockey outside for hours, your feet were like solid blocks of ice and if the puck hit you in the legs you knew it was going to hurt for a week. Now it is summer and has been for a long time. We often get ripped off here with summers that seem to go by in the blink of an eye. It's a balmy -31 here today. Doesn't seem to bother the dogs who seemed intent on keeping me outside freezing while they ran around like idiots getting facefuls of snow and rolling around in it.Telling them it was breakfast time changed their tune.

I used to love winter. A cold winter with snow. With global warming, I doubt that I will ever see more than two or three more real winters in my lifetime. Well, without moving to the mountains or northern Scandinavia. Pretty sad. Always depresses me when I see the temperature going back up to 10 degrees (centigrade) any time from December to February. What's the point of mild winter? Last edited on Mon Dec 14th, 2020 02:03 pm by Kriss ____________________ “Never argue with an idiot. I love it when the chill starts to come in mid-October my favorite time of the year is until the end of January. That's mine except I'd cut mine off at the beginning of January. Great answer. We have several places living in the Philly suburbs and in South Jersey. We have several local TV programs that tell you about places like that in our region.

What's the point of mild winter? Same with us. Last year living in South Jersey, we only got 1/3" of snow all year. Wednesday, we have a storm coming near us and we can get anywhere from 3 to 15" depending on the track of the storm. My 7 year old is so excited, as am I and my wife. It really hasn't felt like Christmas as it was 60 degrees this past weekend. They are already telling us that next week is above normal temps.

srossi wrote: Halloween has probably become my 2nd favorite holiday aside from Christmas now that I have a son. He loves it so much and we can find things to do every weekend leading up to it between going to the pumpkin patch to painting the pumpkins and decorating the house and of course trick-or-treating. It’s fun to see how much he enjoys it all. And then we usually get invited to an adult Halloween party or two in normal years where it’s always a good excuse for drunken, debaucherous fun.And it gives the 20 something year old women a reason to dress up like sluts and not get shamed for it. Make sure you give your son a big hug and kiss on Christmas morning srossi. At that age, they need to know they are loved.
