So if these results hold up and the Dems take both seats, then what's in store for the next 2 years? I already have some coworkers losing their shit over this, thinking that Guns will be confiscated, land will be appropriated, we'll turn into Venezuela etc.... I'm pretty sure that my taxes will go up but figured that was coming anways since they went up with Trumps tax "decrease" Other than that, don't really see much of anything having a major impact on my life other than the fact that I'll get to troll a bunch of the bible thumpers at work.

The truth is, nothing significant changed with Trump either. There was a lot of yelling and shouting and bad behavior on both sides, toxic media on both sides...some minor legislation passed. Basically a huge spectacle, but fundamentally there were no major changes that occurred. I expect the same from Biden's government, except academia and the major media will be calm again. A few minor pieces of lefty legislation passed, like expanding abortion access or something like that, but nothing ground-breaking (like Universal Healthcare). Things will work until they stop working. Might be this year, it might be in a couple decades. I'd bet on the latter (with a lot of pain in the interim) but one never knows when the Archduke Ferdinand moment will arise. There are tens of millions of people getting an object lesson right now in these two truths: 1) They hate you and they want you dead 2) You're not voting your way out of this

As usual, the next two years will be the Dems cleaning up the messes the GOP/Trumptards left. Re-joining the Paris accords and treating climate change as a reality and re-instating the Iran nuclear deal will be two of the biggest accomplishments in terms of foreign policy, along with mending fences with NATO. Revamping the tax code so the rich pay their share will be one of the biggest domestic tasks, along with addressing the long neglected infrastructure issues. The adults are back in charge, and no matter how much the kiddies whine that "it's not fair" and "radical socialism", we all have to do what needs to be done.
