I am not sure why the Vikings gear wound up in Brett Favre's HOF locker, but believe the player himself has input about what goes in there. On that basis, Favre probably asked for it to be included in order to represent his time with the Vikes and perhaps curry favor with that organization for potential future opportunities. My reasoning for this theory is that Ken Stabler's HOF locker has almost no Raiders gear in it. He was traded to the Oilers ahead of the 1980 season and there was apparently some bad blood that wasn't fixed before Stabler died.
Stabler's HOF locker has a Pro Bowl jersey, a Pro Bowl helmet from the days before players wore their own team's helmets in the game, a helmet from his time with the Saints, and some random equipment like cleats and shoulder pads. The only connection to his time as a Raider is an easy to miss game ball from the 10/7/73 game against the then St. Louis Cardinals which was Stabler's first game as the official starting quarterback for the Raiders (he'd previously had a pair of spot starts when his predecessor Daryle Lamonica was injured).
