I watched the Trump Farewell Speech on Youtube. Not a bad speech at all. I was surprised. Couple of things: Right at the beginning when he wishes well to the “next administration” (he never referenced Biden by name) he said that the next administration is to need “luck”. That statement seemed out of place and awkward. I am not getting it? The other thing that stood out was towards the end when he was messaging to his base that this movement is not ending. He is looking to keep things stirred up. What did you all think of the speech? Can anybody explain that “luck” statement? Trump's speech today. A tiny, tiny crowd. Probably the same actors who where there at the start at the bottom of the golden stairway. The only people of note who turned up were his own family. He kept his audience waiting for 20 minutes as they listened to gay anthems and Vietnam protest songs. He started out his speech basically begging his wife not to leave him. Quite sad and pathetic to go out this way. The most powerful man in the world for another three hours. I don't think there will be any violence in the US today. His supporters online are starting to think that he has sold them out. No wall, a coloured as VP and their kids still have brown people in their class at school. I almost felt sad for him. He looked broken. He tried to muster the bluster that he had with the usual greatest hits, but it was definitely not in his heart. The laughable content from acting like the pandemic was over and he fixed it all to speaking about how no one could possibly work harder as he golfed the whole time, it was all parallel universe stuff. And he loves pretending that Covid can just be discounted. His vaunted economy that he was trying to brag about was always "before the China virus hit ". That's like Woodrow Wilson saying, "I was a peacetime president other than that pesky Great War".

That is why I thought he used that phrase with “luck” in it to make the heads of the Qanons spin off of their shoulders. I do believe that he said and did things over the last four years to play to the Qanon crowd.
