 Van Halen beats post 1980 Aerosmith by a landslide.

Pre-1980 Aerosmith beats the tar out of Van Hagar (even much of post 1980 VH does).

But Van Halen still trumps 70s era Aerosmith and that's all that I really listen to from these bands.

 

So Van Halen it is.
