For whomever asked about the AWA, I seem to remember reading in an Apter mag that Rich had a title match against Bockwinkie, and had him beat, but Gino Hernandez interfered. I'm not sure what territory it happened in, though.
If Gino interfered, I'd guess the match happened in Houston.
Probably the following match.
3/26/82 Houston
AWA Champion Nick Bockwinkel beat Tommy Rich
Then Gino is wrestling Tommy on a card several weeks later.
