As I've gotten older I find myself not caring like I did when I was young. The Bears loss to the Colts in SB XLI was disappointing, just not that big of a deal for some reason. I think it has to do with the ridiculous salaries and outrageous ticket prices that make it hard to go to games.
This is a good point - part of it is the perceived lack of hunger a player might have for a championship when they make $15 mil a year regardless. Sort of a nice cushion to the blow of losing.
Part is also growing up and older where sports is a diversion in life and takes a back seat for kids, work, the house, mortgage, bills etc.
