I was lucky to see Piper right at the beginning of his career in Los Angeles from the weekly NYC UHF Canal 41 Olympic show. He was young and skinny and just used to beat the piss out of Chavo Classic who was the Hulk Hogan of SoCal wrestling by 1976. I hated him with a passion. The Hispanic audience hated him with a passion. Piper was definitely doing something right.

His '84 - '85 WWF run was incredible. I don't think he did the job for anyone even though he had some very high profile feuds with Hogan, Snuka, and Sammartino. For a heel to keep his heat white hot over two years and rarely if ever job will probably never be seen again.
