I don't think he did the job for anyone even though he had some very high profile feuds with Hogan, Snuka, and Sammartino.
He was clean pinned, 1-2-3 in St. Louis after taking a flying crossbody from the top rope by Jimmy Snuka in St. Louis, 1984. The entire match was on the Best of the WWF Vol 3 and can probably be seen on YouTube. Other than that one-off, I think you're right - he didn't get pinned in his first WWF run, and that includes his run with Hogan.
