My guess is that they have recorded cards that didn't neccessary have commentary on it and was filmed in 8mm (Morales/Koloff comes to mind). But video recording the MSG shows may very well have started with the 6/73 MSG show.
These guys would no doubt be using the same cameras they used to film little Sally's deflowering at the hands of Uncle Jed.
