While the Washington Nationals have yet to appoint a closer for the upcoming season, they do now at least have an Opening Day starter.

Stephen Strasburg will take the ball at Nationals Park on Monday, April 3 against the Miami Marlins to open the season for the reigning NL East champs.

The 28-year-old will be making his fourth Opening Day start for Washington - a club record since the team moved from Montreal in 2005.

Max Scherzer had started the last two Opening Days for the Nationals, but is being held back to the third game of the season due to a finger injury.

Strasburg is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA on Opening Day.
