Yeah trios didn't become the norm until the early 80's and the huge popularity of Los Misioneros de la Muerte (who was El Texano, El Signo and Negro Navarro).

Besides their awesome box office records, they were extremely influential. Which is why I've always pushed for them in the Wrestling Observer HOF. They were more influential than a team like the Freebirds for instance.
