The idea that the Angels fanbase doesn't care about its team is ridiculous. The team drew an average of 37,236 fans per game last season, 3,016,142 in total. That is better than every MLB club except the Dodgers, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Giants, Cubs, and Yankees.

The big issue for MLB is that it's done a good job of promoting teams and the MLB brand itself, but has fallen down badly when it comes to pushing individual players regardless of teams or markets.
