Much like political scandals these days, the sexual assault stories are becoming so oversaturated with so many of varying degrees of seriousness that people are just tuning out. I said it before and I'll say it again, if Watergate happened today, it would be harped on on social media ad nauseum for a week and then completely forgotten about if Nixon mispronounced a word or didn't shake hands the right away. There would be no forced resignation or serious impeachment threat, because we don't know how to differentiate important things from nonsense anymore and scream impeachment every day and it all rolls into one big shit-pile.
