I always thought Mark did a great job.  I loved his matter-of-fact style that harkened back to Vinnie Mac's better years as an announcer.  In a (very tortured) way, I would compare him to Vin Scully.  He stuck mostly to the action going on in front of him with very little bombast and very little need for a color commentator.  He sometimes went overboard with the wrestling-related theatrics -- for example, my friends and I had a great laugh when Billy Joe Travis whacked someone (Eric Embry?) with a gimmicked beer bottle and Lowrance exclaimed, "He may be dead!!" -- but he mostly presented the action as a legitimate contest.  I'd take him over WWF Jim Ross any day of the week.
