I've never been a big believer in diets other than just eating using common sense and moderation. I can tell you that a number of years ago I quit soda cold turkey just because I felt it was unhealthy in general. I went from 185 to 155 in 3 months and it took me a while to realize why because I wasn't even thinking about losing weight. I did nothing else different at all, so that shows you how bad soda fucks with your body. But I've stabilized around 170-175 now. I just feel better in general drinking 95% water most days. Now when I have the occasional Pepsi, I don't even like the taste of it anymore and instantly feel bad, and I used to be a Pepsi addict.
Pop is banned in my house. Unless it's a rare occasion, my kids cannot drink it. One can make a good argument that drinking lots of pop is just as unhealthy as smoking. With that said, I'm not ready yet to endorse Bloomberg.
