Cool doesn't mean the same thing to you and me that it means to the new generation.  All the shit that used to get kids pushed into lockers when I was growing up (video games, anime, binge-watching TV shows on a Friday night before binge-watching was a thing) are now cool, and Omega and the AEW guys are into all that shit.  This is cool for the YouTube generation.  "Ric Flair cool" doesn't exist anymore, and considering how pathetic Ric Flair is now, I can't say that's a bad thing.

Omega's trying to get a reaction, but the problem is he's already making exceptions and will wind up crying and apologizing within hours.  I give him credit for attempting trash talk in 2019, but in the age of Twitter it never goes well.  And the biggest marks are always behind the curtain and genuinely seem confused by it.Let's be honest - Flair really wasn't cool in 1985 either, it just seemed like he was.  Walking around looking like a million bucks all while not paying his taxes, cheating on his wife, walking out on his kids - that's the sign of a total piece of shit.  But we loved him, so he was the coolest of the cool.
Now Kenny Omega says something that he probably believes in his heart, and everybody has a problem with it?  Everybody needs to just tend to their own business and move on.  And Kenny Omega needs to shut the fuck up, because a large portion of the fan base that AEW is trying to draw doesn't give a rats ass about anybody on the roster that's not one of the VPs of the company, or Jericho and Mox.  And I am one of those people.   Not one person on this board is paying cash money to watch Darby Allin or Sammy Guevara.  You can say that you will, but you won't.  This company, which i've been really excited about because it's going to be an alternative to WWE, is already in trouble.  People absolutely LOVE what HHH has done with NXT.  If he is allowed to keep it up - and a job posting looking for writers for a "sports centric reality based program" lead me to believe that he will - a good number of the fans that AEW is looking for will think twice about what they are going to watch on Wednesdays.  WWE is throwing stupid money at people like Gallows, Anderson, etc. so that they won't leave.  AEW will be pulling from any indy roster that has a guy that WWE doesn't want, and they'll be pulling from ROH.  And the ROH fans will get mega pissed at that.  Unlike Madusa showing up on Nitro and shitcanning the Women's title, if an ROH guy pulled that shit on AEW programming, it would cause a revolt.

I've been looking forward to AEW for a year.  I believed that it was going to be a great alternative, and a lot of fun.  I'm starting to think that Cody and the boys found the huge money mark that wrestlers have been looking for since the downfall of WCW and they are going to bleed every penny out of him that they can before jumping ship.  I truly hope that I am wrong, because there needs to be more safe places for the talent to work and actually get paid for their work.
