Sports Illustrated will almost certainly end its print publication at some point very soon apart from the swimsuit issue, perhaps something like the NFL preview, and stuff like a team winning a championship and SI putting out some sort of commemorative issue with classic photos and articles about the team in question. The website will go on with bloggers and hacks. If SI's long term previous owners had a clue they would have turned into what ESPN.com is or TheAthletic.com or even CBSsports.com. Instead, they put together a website that has generally lacked meaningful content and has long had a buggy design that made navigation and access to content far more of a chore than it should ever have been. It's a sad state of affairs because this was a property that had a lot of potential as an online property even as print media died, but no one was properly minding the store.
