It didn't hurt that Andre loved Butcher and probably had Sr.'s ear. When Sr. passed way it looks like Jr. kept the deal.

I read somewhere that Vince Sr. told Butcher he had a job for life in his company after Sr. took over booking Andre the Giant from Butcher. Butcher was Andre's first business manager and when Sr. asked to take over booking him on the road that was part of his agreement with Butcher. It didn't hurt that Andre loved Butcher and probably had Sr.'s ear. When Sr. passed way it looks like Jr. kept the deal.
