Chicago Blackhawks or as they were known when founded as the Black Hawks were named for an infantry division(86th)in Ww I. The logo for the club has passed muster with Native American organizations as it is not a caricature. The team has never employed an "Indian" as a mascot, or used one in advertising. It's almost a textbook example of how to use an image of a Native American and present it with respect and the dignity it deserves.
I can't see the name ever changing but who knows. There should be no need.
The problem is, this knowledge will most likely be ignored by the Cancel Culture, when it's the last logo standing (I think it may be the last to go). It should be left alone, but it won't be.
