According to Quincy via his book, Eddie did 'Beat It' for a case of beer. Eddie thought 'Beat It' would reach an audience that's not his & so did MJ. Both were correct as 'Beat It' is 1 of the best, most effective & successful collaborations around. People that didn't generally listen to MJ or Van Halen now did. Good piece if immortality to be a part of
