Help my memory out here -- is this how they got to the "Hogan" belt?
I want to say "yes" that there was a new one made (Backlund gets it on "Buddy Roger's Corner) but this all here transpires in August of 1982. Hogan is more than a year away.

If the Hogan belt if the ugly big green belt that is it. I hated that belt.
Backlund debuts the belt on Roger's corner. Saying how it has Roger's name on it.
Backlund, Sheik, Hogan use the belt. Then mid-late 84 Hogan gets a new belt that kind of looks like the NWA World TV Title in the design.

Worst acting job ever, except for Backlund screaming "why" far too many times after Maivia turned on him.
I didn't like Bob for his promos or his acting. The guy could wrestle his ass off.

That always bothered me, the WWWF belts all pretty much looked identical for a while, then the big greenie came along and at least that looked impressive enough to be a world title. I always thought it looked too much like a boxing belt, but then they replaced it with one that had the same basic design as the NWA TV/National belt and a millon NWA territorial belts. Surely someone in the WWF should have realized that before greenlighting the design. Then there was that one used circa WM III that had the flags of different countries on the side pieces. Gorilla even mentions that no matter who wins at WM III it would be the last time we'd see that particular belt but it stuck around until 88 or so when the Winged Eagle belt came into play.
I thought the larger post-eagle WWF belt and even the Undisputed title were impressive, but now we're stuck with the spinner (which hasn't even spun in a long time). I know they don't want to change it because it sells a lot of replica toys, but it's pretty embarrassing that they still use what was essentially Cena's version of the smoking skull belt years after he stopped using the rapper gimmick.

The first time they used the eagle belt was on the Main event where Andre won the belt. Hogan does a interview before the match he has the flag belt when he comes to the ring he has the eagle belt.
