We have Green Bay hosting the NY Giants. The Pats hosting the San Diego Chargers.

As usual with the NFL there isn't just games to consider but the "storylines" (LOL) as well. ZERO degrees in Green Bay. Eli still playing while Peyton is at home. Giants doing unexplainably well on the road. Is it Favre's last run? Pats trying for the undefeated run. The Chargers eight game win streak (getting hot at the right time?) The Charger's injury situation.

Anyway, all on the table  and more ~ discuss

I am really pulled two different ways on the AFC game, because I detest everything the Patriots with Beli-cheat stand for.  But, over the last few weeks, I have REALLY found Phillip Rivers annoying with him popping his mouth off to opposing players and fans.  He just seems like a spoiled brat, and you always root for those guys to lose.

As for the Pats, I respect Brady as a player and his accomplishments as a NFL QB, but he is beginning to sound like an arrogant ass like Belichick each week.  The thing I hate the most about the Pats is how Ted Bruschi is worshipped up there.  It would not surprise me a bit if the Boston media swayed the Pats fan base that Bruschi is the new messiah and that he could walk on water.

Saying all that, I am supporting the Bolts agains the Pats.

In the NFC, I think it would be cool for Favre to go out with a Super Bowl win, but Madden would probably spooge all over himself on national TV if that happened.  I do not if he could handle it.

A Giants Super Bowl victory would not bother me in the least.  It would mean that they either beat the Chargers or the Pats and that is fine by me.

I will be supporting the NFC this year in the Super Bowl no matter which team gets there.

I definitely want to see the undefeated run by the Pats. I don't really remember the 72 Dolphins.

The NFC doesn't do much for me at this point but it wouldn't surprise me if the NFC team gave the Pats (or the Chargers -- sorry T-bolt) a run for the Super Bowl win in a one game situation on a neutral field.

My hatred for the 72 Dolphins is greater than my hatred for the Pats. So I'm rooting for The Pats to win it all just to fuck the 72 Dolphins.

Rivers is hurt. I like The Pats to win for that reason. Pats can't stop anybody most of the time but as we learned last week, all it takes is two or three defensive stops by the Pats and they'll win the game. San Diego's only chance is to injure Brady.

Green Bay will beat the Giants. The only chance the Giants have is to injure Favre or at least put a hurting on him. He'll start throwing picks if you pressure him early in the game.

I'm not delusional about the Bolts' chances tomorrow. Even without the injuries I'd be reserved about predicting a Chargers' win.  If the improbable happens and the Chargers do win, I'll be ecstatic, but I won't be saying "I knew it all along".  I'll still be rooting for the upset though.  Hell, after the start they got off to, this streak and two playoff wins almost feels like found money.  Norv surprised everybody (especially me) and managed to pull it all together, and just at the right time.

A Bolts win makes me happy for obvious reasons.  A Bolts loss gives me schadenfreude because somewhere the '72 Dolphins are all growing more and more bitter and whiney.  I'd prefer the former though.

As for the NFC, I don't see Green Bay losing. Something serendipitous is going on up there I feel.

They weren't  that good. They were  underdogs in the SuperBowl.

I think Volek playing would not hurt the Bolts too much.

I agree about the '72 Dolphins, but this Pats will be the same or even worse in years to come, if they go undefeated.  There is no way that the '72 fins were the best team ever assembled.  Right place, Right schedule and Right time.

Two keys for the Bolts to win..1) the pressure and containment that the Bolts d-line can generate against the Pats...2)LT -If they can can control the time of posession with him running the ball effectively, I think they can make a very good game of it.

Volek winning would be great.

I just saw a post over at OSW that I made in August that predicted an NY-NE SB. I'm pulling for the Giants, now.

As a long time G-Man fan, this should be a good game.  The G-Men have been placing a lot of pressure on the QBs of late.  If they are able to put pressure of Brett, it may cause him to throw the ball away.

Go Blue!!!!

That interception might just be the mistake the Chargers could not afford to make....

Am I imagining things or was Rivers leg whipped/tripped by Vrabel which affected his delivery?  I would think that was a penalty.  Pitiful job by Chambers on the catch.

Chris Chambers, for as happy as I was when we picked him up from Miami  midseason, is the biggest pussy ever when it come to fighting for the ball.
