I still did not understand Eduard Carpentier wrestling on the WWF cards during their time of expansion and increased popularity.

A bunch of the gang that I used to hang with would just watch wrestling to see if Carpentier would climb the ropes to do a flip for no apparent reason during a match.  Carpentier was very good in his day, but when he did those flips in the 80's, you could see his legs twitch after doing the flip and you were not certain that he might fall over backwards due to his lean.

I wonder if Carpentier traveled to house shows or was he basically booked out of Canada?

I beleive he was doing commentary for the French version of the Brantford tapings to be aired in Canada. I think they just threw him out there in a TV match to get thier product over with the Quebec viewers.

They used Masacaras alot in 83 when they went into LA, and I think in STL in 84.

During expansion I think they wanted to make sure the invaded area had "names", on the card that they had identified with in the past.

Yeah, they used The Crusher in Milwaukee too so that was par for the course.

Ed Carpentier held the honor of wrestling Hans Mortier to a draw in the last match at the old MSG when the 11pm. curfew intervened on January 29,1968.
