There wasn't 1.5 minutes left, there was 19 seconds. Even if Favre had tossed it to the sidelines, they go for the FG, miss, and give NO the ball with @ 15 seconds left at their own 37 with NO having no more timeouts. NO would have to toss a good 25 yard sideline pass in one play, get out of bounds just to kick a 54 yarder themselves. Highly unlikely.

He fucked up. He tossed it in the middle of the field with 19 seconds left to not give his team the chance to win.

You are correct, there were only 19 seconds, so Longwell would have had to hit a 55 yarder to win it. That's still pretty iffy, and the Vikes fumbles are what truly cost them the win, not the pick that might have led to a 55 yard FG that might have been good.

Exactly! Fuck! 5 fumbles....thats what cost them the game...nothing other than that. You cough up the ball that many times, and not win? on you.

This. The final should've been something like 45-28 Vikings.

45-21 the Harvin fumble set up the Saints other touchdown.

The coaching staff needs some heat here too. How do you get 12 men in the huddle out of a time out?

It's called here in Philly the Andy Reid syndrome. Choking down the strech during a big game. Remember, Childress did learn from the best.;)

Can't see him getting much sympathy this time around after single-handily destroying his team's Super Bowl berth. That was a BAD INT Choke Job Right There!!

His team would have never reached that far in the playoffs without him, nor would have been in that situation if Adrian Peterson and the rest of the team didn't fumble the ball so much. I don't see how you can blame the loss on Favre when he was the team's best player on the field yesterday.

I agree. Favre was definitely the best player the Vikings had on offense on Sunday.

The Vikings choke again. :D

What is their record in the Super Bowl? 0-4 or something like that.

One of these days, the Vikings will square off against the Bills in the Super Bowl, and then the gloves are OFF.

Too bad nobody on this board will be alive to witness it.
