I could have gone to the New Jersey Meadowlands show where Stan Hansen best Rick Martel for the AWA title. I simply chose not to, and I regret it.

Spinning off from that, who are the wrestlers that you wish you could have seen, and could have seen, but never did?

Active wrestlers don’t count. I have yet to see Randy Orton live, but I eventually will.

You don’t have access to a time machine, and the parameters have to be reasonable. I turned 18 in 1983, and Verne Gagne was already retired. Using that example, I really can’t bee too mad at myself for never seeing Gagne live.

Japanese and Mexican stars that primarily wrestled in their home countries don’t count. Here's my list:

1. Nick Bockwinkel
2. Mil Mascaras (Mil wrestled enough U.S. dates to qualify).
3. Goldberg
4. Mr. Wrestling II
5. Brock Lesnar
6. Diamond Dallas Page
7. Austin Idol- I went to an indy show that advertised Idol, but he wasn’t there. Despite Idol’s well-earned rep for no-showing, this was more likely a false advertisement.
8. Bill Dundee
9. Chavo Guerrero
10. Umaga

The Sheik-One of my biggest regrets. He had a few matches here and there in the AWA and WWA in the mid 70's that I could have gone to, since its my home area. I had already gone to my first match in early 1975 in Chicago, so I could have gone.

AWA guys in the mid 70's- Again, I went for the first time in 1975 but never got to see legends like Pampero Firpo,Angelo Mosca,Joe LeDuc and a few more that were in the area at the time

Bruiser Brodie- He was in the WWA in the late 70's for a quick run and I never got to make the shows in Indy and now I wish I had

This would be a list of guys who appeared on cards for the AWA between 1979-89 that I could have gone to and wish now that I did:

Bruiser Brody, Doctor X (The Destroyer), Otto Wanz, John Tolos, Abdullah the Butcher, Harley Race, Stan Hansen, Blackjack Mulligan, Dick the Bruiser, Terry Gordy.

Tenryu, Jumbo Tsuruta and Giant Baba appeared on an international tag team spectacular in Green Bay in March 1984.  That card was one I regret having missed.

I called a local radio station off-air to "expose" Lanny Poffo and Randy Savage as brothers.  What I failed to realize was they were taping me and offered me tickets to see this card which I refused:

WWF @ Green Bay, WI - Brown County Arena - September 30, 1986
Jake Roberts vs. Lanny Poffo
The Iron Sheik vs. Cpl. Kirchner
Nikolai Volkoff vs. Tony Atlas
B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell vs. Jimmy Jack & Dory Funk Jr.
WWF IC Champion Randy Savage vs. Tito Santana
Included 2 other matches

So I missed seeing "Hoss" live too.

Any of the AWA mainstays except Bockwinkel.
Anyone whose career started after 2001.

I think I've seen just about everyone else at least once.

I think Bruno is the only one I've never seen that I wanted to see... I was lucky enough to see most of the ones I'd want to see live, and usually in their prime.. Flair, Hogan and Sting in the late 80's, Rock, Austin, Nash, UT and others in the mid 90's.

I actually saw one of Rocky's first matches when he was getting a look, he was still Flex Cavana (?) and he wrestled Owen Hart... good match, and you could tell that Rocky had something. 'Course against Owen, I probably would have looked good too...

Bruno Sammartino certainly tops my list. I started watching too late to see him in his prime, but I'm surpised he never came to town during his mid-80s comeback. I mean come on, the guy lived just two hours from Erie. He could have worked the main event and still slept in his own bed!
