Ray Stevens had two major injuries outside the ring but I don't think he ever had an injury from in-ring work. Pedro Morales is another guy who comes to mind. Hell, I don't even remember Pedro doing worked injury angles.

His knee injury was legitimate, as you could see in the Sept 24, 1984 taping, he could barely walk to the ring and match was only 3-4 min. He begged Vince/talked into a title change so he could get surgery done. He said to me and shoot interviews his knee popped in a house show match with Paul Orndorff.

Though I really need to ask how the hell he handled a figure four leg lock if his knee was that bad.

Valentine suplexing him on "the concrete floor" was the only angle I could think of. Not sure if any time off.

He did get burned pretty badly in that fire match at the end of his career, but he wasn't performing regularly at that point so I don't know if that counts.

He was out for quite awhile after having some form of stomach surgery. I remember him coming back against Johnny Rougeau. He had a huge bandage across his stomach.  By the time he went to Memphis to do the short program with Lawler, he was sporting a large (3" x 3") band aid-and a scar.

Wasn't Stevens a daredevil outside the ring?

Yep. Stevens was supposedly one of the top workers in the world in the 1960's. He bumped like a pinball and went 110% at all times. He was also an active competitive go-kart racer and got seriously injured around 1970. He was never quite the same. I believe he also did rodeo.

Farhat had an appendectomy.
