That seriously looks like something the guys from "Mystery Science Theater 3000" would lampoon.

1. That is an awesome find. Thanks for sharing. It's right up there with Batman fending off a shark on his leg in the original Batman movie.
2. Wrestling has actually done worse and will likely do worse in the future.

The Gorn was a major star in the indies before being forced to tone down his style and put over Superman Kirk for the Star Trek audience.

Personally, I think the Gorn went into business for himself.

At least Kirk knows that boxing the ears of your opponent is the proper way to escape a bear hug.

I love how having his ears boxed causes Gorn to writhe in agony for 10 seconds, yet a 30 lb. rock heaved at him from 15 feet overhead bounces off his chest as if nothing happened.

Who wrote this shit?  Russo?

It's where he got the idea for D-Lo Brown's chest protector.

You ever had your ears boxed? Shit hurts.

Speaking of that boulder, Kirk gave it a hell of a toss, didn't he!

Captain Kirk can throw a heck of a dropkick and a monkey flip too ( ask Jerry Lawler ). I'm sure he was just holding back because he didn't want to shoot on The Gorn and had to make it look as much like 'sports entertainment' as possible.

This is actually one of THE Star Trek scenes that stands out to me the most. this and those Furbies or whatever they were.

I clearly remember wathing it with my Dad as a small child then seeing it on a TV screen at a Blockbuster when I was in my early teens.  Thanks for posting it. Brings back memories. And it's funny as hell!

Didn't they escort Simon Diamond to the ring in late-day ECW?
