Week fourteen is almost upon us.

If you're in the "Pick Em Pool" get your picks in. Three lead changes in the last four weeks - from #1 to #5 only 5 points (correct picks) difference so whoever gets hot at the end is going to win this one.

Thursday night we have Indy at Tennessee. Colts at -3 point favorite, the Titans have looked awful not being able to score since Vince Young has been out and the OC was diagnosed with Cancer. On the Indy side of the ball they sure have that "Super Loser" jinx going on and I wonder ...if Manning is having some arm problems.

Some HUGE games out on the west coast -- I mean San Diego (6-6) had better not blow this game vs KC (8-4) well let's just say this is a potential "elimination game" for them. Likewise for the preseason favorite San Fran 49ers (turning back to Alex Smith this week) at 4-8 have never recovered from their disasterous start and they just HAVE TO "win out"

The New England Patriots visit Chicago for a matchup vs the Bears.

The Giants are in Minnesota and all kinds of uncertainty there with Favre being hurt, the new coach, the Vikings having won two in a row, and the Vikings strength (running the ball) being where the Giants have looked weakest this year.

Miami is in a must-win spot also. Having lost earlier to New York and now at 6-6 really they have to win out also to try for one of the two wildcard spots.

Primetime this week has Philly catching Dallas when they are playing their best ball of the year -- and the Ravens are in Houston.

Your fantasy strategies, game picks and comments as the games and situations unfold are all welcome

Indy (3) at Tennessee
Oakland at Jacksonville (4.5)
Cincy at Pittsburgh (8.5)
New England (3) at Chicago
Cleveland at Buffalo (1)
NY Giants (2) at Minnesota
Green Bay (6.5) at Detroit
Atlanta (7) at Carolina
Tampa Bay (2) at Washington
St Louis at New Orleans (9)
Seattle at San Fran (4.5)
Miami at NY Jets (5.5)
Denver (5) at Arizona
Kansas City at San Diego (7)
Philly (3.5) at Dallas
Baltimore (3) at Houston

With the exception of the Jags game, nobody else has run on the Giants so how is that our weakest point

There are a few games where I wished there was an option neither. But in that pick 'em pool, you have to pick every game.

Possibly, but there are also rumors circulating that he may be going through a divorce.

Here's hoping they can get the running game going with Rhodes back.

Fire that asshole Singletary NOW!. He puts that dumbshit Alex Smith back as QB means he has given up on season. Elimination game for Niners and he puts a lifetime 17-32 (1-5 this season ) QB back in. Lets trade 10-7 Shaun Hill for a number 6 pick. Lets bench Troy Smith (3-2). When that dickwad Alex Smith is released in 4 weeks take that shitty coach with you! "I want winners" my ass.

Even if SF wins this week they are at San Diego next week and what will be a "must have" game for them also. They're cooked.

*Something's* wrong with (Peyton) Manning. He's throwing INTs at a Favre/Romo-like pace.

Philly (3.5) at Dallas

I'm not a betting man but if I was, I'd be betting on Philly heavily minus 3.5.

So if you run against the Giants, you will get stopped except when you don't?

If you run in the first half and the first letter of the city from where you are from starts with a "J" then you will have success. Otherwise katy bar the door.

Why?  Dallas is coming off a huge win whilst Philly barely got by Houston after a demoralizing loss in Chicago.  Plus, it's in Dallas.  I think the Cowboys will hang with the Eagles, and wouldn't be surprised if they pulled off the upset.

I think Dallas will win also but if the rematch in Philly means anything at that time they'll take care of business. Cowboys doing nothing more than ruining their draft position at this point.

I think Claw is referencing the "payback" (from last year) factor though

Home dogs are always dangerous. I may have put the clawmaster jinx on Philly. Then again the jinx didn't bother The Pats much last week. Philly does have injuries in the secondary. If Dallas does win, it will take a helluva game by Kitna.

And I in turn have jinxed the Bears for you this week by pickin' 'em straight up  ;)

I picked The Pats so I win either way unless the Bears lose by less than 4. If you picked Dallas, you did the same thing I did.

14-0 Colts in the Thursday nighter. Two key penalties at the goalline aiding the Colts cause. Awaiting response from the Titans who haven't scored a touchdown in quite awhile now.

Peyton looks like he's back to being awesome. But Indy seriously needs to work on their defense. Sure, there are injuries and new guys...but some of them aren't cutting it (I'm looking at you Francisco) and they need to get more creative and quit relying on the tampa 2 defense, because it isn't working. They blew a 21-0 lead because of it.

The Tampa 2 only works if you have really good safeties. The Colts have a good safety Bob Sanders but he never plays because he's hurt all the time.

Partially true, which is why I mentioned Francisco.  That guy sucks.  He misses almost 80% of his tackles.

And it's also something that was Dungy's creation, but it seems the new DC just can't figure it out.

We'll see how tough these guys are. Where I went to college in Eastern Canada, it would go down to -40 to -50 at night with the wind chill (we were 1 mile from the Ocean). I got so used to those temps that now, living in KC, I'll still wear shorts out till it drops into single digits.

Pretty much any team playing up north this weekend is going to freeze to death in a life sized snow globe.  Forecasts here call for dropping temps and gusty winds, probably low 20s or teens by the end of the game.

Fine by me, the Steelers can just run the ball on the Bengals all day while Big Ben soothes his beak with some snow.

That may have just sealed the Pack as Wildcard and Bears as Division Champions, especially if Rodgers sits next week also

True, but the announcers were right, the team will rally around him over the rest of the year and next year since he has shown he will never give up on a play either

I guarantee you, 20 or more other QB's would have given up the chase after the 40 yd line and just let him run into the endzone

Miami unable to run out the clock is fucking great

That was ridiculous, and that guy should be given a nice fine for that.

NFL really punished the Buffalo market for the blackout with these shitburger games today. Packers-Lions and then Jets-Dolphins. The NFL is just horrendous this year, and it's been getting worse the last few years. The Browns-Bills game sounded terrible on the radio too. Watching Chad Henne and Mark Sanchez attempt to play QB was painful.

Just a few observations form the peanut gallery here, nothing Earth shattering or groundbreaking

1-The Patriots are easily the best team in the NFL right now, hands down.:(:X

2-The Steelers need to get rid of Bruce Arians and hire a decent offensive coordinator to go with their defense.

3-Green Bay is toast.Fuhgeddaboudit.3 points vs the Lions?Toast.

4-Jacksonville is for real this year.

5-Atlanta is going to the Superbowl as the NFC rep.

6-the Jets are on the downside.

7-The Redskins are the bad news Bears of the NFL,totally inept.

The Falcons will find some way to mess up. I've been trying to enjoy the season, but it's difficult given their history. Roddy White is coming closer to blowing a fuse every week. He'll do something eventually to cost Atlanta at least one game.

Patriots will win the Super Bowl. They're really hitting their stride. No one's even close to them right now.

Jets have peaked. A few weeks ago, a commentator somewhere said Sanchez had now arrived and matured. He's since been pretty bad.

Eagles have peaked. NFL defenses are beginning to adjust to Vick again.

The jackass on the Jets should lose his job, not just be fined, and not be allowed to work for any NFL teams ever. IMO that is up there with Woody Hayes punching the kid as the worst ever among truly classless acts of sportsmanship. Imagine the lawsuit if the Dolphins guy blew out his knee...

This. They even talked about this on the Sun night game...Costas suggested he should be fired? I agreed with him, what a piece of shit that guy is.....I was glad to see the Jets lose. Watching Chad Henne and Mark Sanchez attempt to play QB was painful.

I don't get it.  Not every team is going to be elite.  I saw the Jets self destruct and be exposed, but they're still clawing and fighting.  The Bills, although having a shoddy defense...are still a fun team to watch with Fitzpatrick having the kind of season he is (better than normal).

Football is supposed to be fun, it seems everyone is forgetting that and just expecting teams to dominate and run up scores.  That's only a select few, that's how it SHOULD be.

This year is no worse than any other year, to be honest.

The Texas were trailing The Ravens 28-7 but just tied the game up 28-28 on a two point conversion.

Wow, the Favre cock gargling on ESPN has officially reached levels beyond parody. They are straight up telling people to ignore the last couple years and only look back at the 90s, forget about all that team destroying and dick pic sharing stuff.

Does this really surprise you? They realize they have to get all their favre-felching in now as he won't be around to verbally bum-blast next year.

I wonder how much he'll get offered to be an analyst?

It's unbelievable. They just never are going to "break out". Whenever the chips are down and they HAVE TO win they don't. Then when the pressure is off they work their way back to being "close" (division lead, playoffs) and that point you can bank on them not getting it done when the opportunity presents itself for post season play.
