I knew him a little bit when he was in Pittsburgh in 1972-73 as The Executioner. He would drive down from Buffalo on weekends and stay at a Motel 6 right off the turnpike to save some money.

He started wearing the mask because he was wearing a toupee and couldn't go into the ring with it.

When Ace Freeman was a wrestler in the '40s, he boarded with the Lewin family at some point and knew the boys.

Donn was a decent, quiet guy who was a real professional.

I was always interested in the tag team of Donn and Mark Lewin as a kid. They were way before my time, but I always had of wished I was able to have seen some of their matches. I seen Mark wrestle a lot as a kid, but never Donn.

Rest In Peace Donn Lewin.


BTW I never knew he spelled his name with two N's on the end. I guess you learn something new every day.
