Why wait until Wednesday or Thursday to put the thread up? Only 4 games and they're all interesting in their own way 4:30 EST on Saturday has New Orleans at Seattle and as far as I can remember the first time ever that a wildcard team was on the road and favored over a division winner. And giving 10+ points to boot. The late game Saturday night has the Jets at Indy for a rematch from last year's AFC Championship The Sunday early game has Baltimore traveling to KC for the Chief's first playoff appearance in four years. Sunday late afternoon has Green Bay at Philly. Your opinions, analysis as well as talking about the games as they unfold are all on the table. New Orleans (10.5) at Seattle NY Jets at Indy (2.5) Baltimore (2.5) at Kansas City Green Bay at Philly (2.5) |

New Orleans (10.5) kills Seattle 35 -3 Indy (2.5) upends the NY Jets 27 -14 Baltimore (2.5) stomps Kansas City 24 - 7 Green Bay gets by Philly (2.5) 24- 21 only competive game is Greenbay beating Philly. Colts show Ryan is all smoke and mirrors. Saints and ravens show their opponents don't belong in the playoffs. Last edited on Tue Jan 4th, 2011 04:06 pm by Count Grog |

I will be at the Philly/Green Bay game (Not wearing Packers gear for fear of death) so I am crazy hyped for that. Packers should pull it off by getting at Vick all night. I see Kansas City pulling off the upset and beating the Ravens. The Ravens offense has looked lackluster the past couple of weeks. Colts/Jets should be a repeat of the AFC Championship game from last year. I am sure Rex Ryan is cursing the Oakland Raiders for showing up in week 17. Saints/Seahawks will be closer than people are expecting but the Saints will definitely move on to the next round. |

New Orleans at Seattle NY Jets at Indy Baltimore at Kansas City Green Bay at Philly Indy's injuries finally catch up with them. Most of the injured players are finally healthy again other than Collie and Gonzalez on offense. On D, everyone is good except for the safety position. Not a fan of the Francisco kid at all, but the D has really stepped up lately...especially on their run defense. |

Most of the country has unfairly written off the Seahawks because they are 7-9 but they have the crowd behind them plus it is 1 game. If it was best of 7 pretty sure the Saints dominate but the "Hawks" are a better team that the record indicates and IMO opinion Pete Carroll is a guy who can get the most out of his team in a situation like this. |

I guess we know "who dat" this year. This sucks for football to see a 7-9 team get hot at the right time and knock off the defending champions, but that's why they play the game.(and it's not over yet as I type this,so the Saints may come back, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm beginning to wonder if Indianapolis is trying to lose by not holding the Jets in this half at all Now it 14-10 because Indy decided to let the Jets march down the field twice, converting 3rd and 5+ a few times. The Saints Defense has been suspect all year. But after basically reigning in Atlanta, I thought maybe they had righted the ship. That was bad though. Every TD pass was to a wide open receiver with NO ONE covering him. Ridiculous. Offense still scored 36 points (without a running game, though Jones looked ok) which should be enough to win most NFL games. Do not know what happened to the defense from last year to this year. Oh well. I still think Payton is a heck of a coach and will keep them at least in the playoff hunt as long as he is here. |

It seems I'm the only one that went 2-0 in yesterday's picks and it looks like I could be 3-0 after the Baltimore-KC game if things keep going as they are. Baltimore just picked off Cassel with 3 minutes in the 3rd. |

The Chiefs' defense has played a good game, but can't be expected to defend 30 and 40-yard fields all day. |

If the Chiefs' defense had played a bad game, the Ravens might have had 50+ points with how bad the offense was. If your offense is putting you on the field for over 2/3 of the game, it's hard to stay fresh. |

Blame Akers. Had he made the shorter of his 2 FG muffs, the Eagles wouldn't have had to go for 2 on the TD. The score would have been 21-20 and Vick wouldn't have had to go endzone. Another 10-15 yards and then let Akers lose it for them. |

No no, you have to blame Philly's "Punching Bag", McNabb...it's always his fault.......they lost because of him. Some fan will probably claim he used mental telepathy on them, or jinxed them? McNabbs the reason Vick got hurt near the end...Mcnabb blah blah blah....... Its all McNabb's fault...never anyone else's. Last edited on Mon Jan 10th, 2011 12:57 am by stingmark |

I saw The Saints and The Falcons play a few weeks ago on what was it a special edition of Thursday Night Football? Neither team impressed me that game. That's why I picked Seattle ATS against the Saints. That's why I don't fear Atlanta. I do however fear Green Bay and still think the Packers will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Yep the Packers will beat The Falcons then beat The Bears. |

There isn't a dominant team. It's the old on any given Sunday cliche. In the end though, I trust Aaron Rodgers more than I do Matt Ryan, Matt Hasselback or Jay Cutler. |

I'm confident the Steelers can beat the Ravens again, but both teams beat each other up so bad no matter who wins there won't be much left to face NE (who, let's face it, will beat the brakes off the Jets again no matter how much everyone outside of Boston wishes they won't). |

I really think Baltimore or Pittsburgh could take the Patriots if the Jets actually play a decent game against them, unlike last time, and really expose the Patriots weaknesses for them to further exploit. As far as their game goes, the broken nose game is what is going to occur this weekend, its going to be a very close game and in the end, I see Pittsburgh winning by 3 points I see the Pats coming right out of the gate throwing, so the Jets will setup a defense for the pass, and the Pats will run the ball killing the Jets D early in the game, and probably demoralizing them for the rest of the 1st half. The games final score will be alot closer than it really was, with the Pats winning by 14(but they will have a huge lead at the half) Chicago, like Claw stated, if Good Cutler shows up(does anyone else miss the days when Chicago fans never had to say the words "good"or "bad" before the QB name?) and the good O-Line shows up, Cutler is gonna light up Seattle. If the Defense catches fire early, Hasselback will be staring at the sky quite a few times. But I can see the Seattle defense playing havoc with the Bears O-Line as well. But I think this game will be a squeeker with the Bears winning in the final 8 minutes of the game Green Bay and Atlanta is going to be a physical game. I see GB winning a very very close game and I would not be surprised if this game didn't end up in OT honestly, where we will see the first OT with the new rules. Like Claw stated, I am going with Green Bay this game |

Flacco has played the Steelers five times in his career. He is 2-0 when Big Ben is out of the game and 0-3 when he is in the game. I don't see the Ravens winning this one. Bears will beat the Seahawks and that will be that. Jets will show up for the game with the Patriots but ultimately fall short. Patriots move on. My Packers were awesome last night and I barely escaped from Philly alive. Hoping the Packers can get past the Falcons and move on to Chicago for round three with the Bears. |
