If Vince McMahon was playing our "Future Endeavors" pool, it would look like that list and he'd win.

I'm honestly thinking of watching it just because of the guy that's doing the announcing with Todd Grisham....

Later,

Nate

The prize for winning this show will be a place in season 6 of NXT. That's what they said.

What's the prize for winning Season 6, a spot in Season 7?  These guys are just going to perpetually be rookies until they show up 35 years from now in the Royal Rumble and a reincarnated Gorilla Monsoon calls them "youngsters".

World Wrestling Entertainment debuted the fifth season of WWE NXT last night on their website with the theme of "Redemption" featuring former cast members who were getting a second chance at winning.
That concept was not the original plan for the new season of NXT as WWE cameras filmed interviews with a number of developmental talents over the last several weeks for introductory packages that would have been used to give backgrounds on the different competitors.
Within the last week, the decision was made to hold those new talents off and instead go with the "Redemption" theme. I was told that internally, the company felt this season was going to end up overlooked since they were launching Tough Enough on The USA Network around the same time. Obviously, Tough Enough is obviously a much bigger priority since its being produced for their most important television partner, USA.
So, basically, WWE decided that they didn't want to compete with themselves when it came to introducing new personas and characters with two very similar television outings.
I am told that many of the names originally planned for Season 5 will instead be used for Season Six down the line, although creative decisions could cause that list to change over time as well.

If being an "up-and-comer" was good enough for Ricky Steamboat in 1991, it's good enough for these guys.

This season?  They've all been overlooked since about the 4th episode of the first season.  Especially since moving to the Internet, none of those guys could be picked out of a line-up by even the most hardcore fans.
