I start following it in February every year through the conference tournys and March Madness.  I don't have a favorite college team, althought I kind of root for Georgetown because of Patrick Ewing and I like when St. John's is good because it's rare that they are.

Huge fan I watch a lot of games (being here on Tobacco Road you have no choice)  I run a fairly big NCAA brackett usually over 100 people play.  If anyone is interested its $5 and I can send the link.

Used to love it,now I just have the ho-hum approach, mostly because kids never stay for 4 years anymore and because I just don't have the time to watch the games like I used to..............big ACC fan by the way, with 2 favorite teams 1-Duke and 2-Anybody but Carolina.

I can remember, and Tofu can probably vouch for this, when the single biggest draw of the whole year in North Carolina was the ACC Tournament back in the mid 70's to early 80's,back then only 2 ACC teams made the 24 team NCAA tourney and even the NIT was big time for those teams that didn't make it,I kid you not businesses shut down on "First round Fridays" and most school teachers had TV sets tuned to the game,if you shut up and watched you got an "A" for the day,(unless you rooted for Wake Forest LOL/JK)

These days,I watch a Duke game every once in a blue moon and still root for the other guys instead of the shitheels, err,Tarheels, but I can't even muster the old hatred that I used to have for them, these kids playing now weren't even close to being born when I started to hate the Heels (1979),but the sceond best rivalry in college sports is Duke vs UNC in hoops (Bucks-Wolverines in football takes the #1 spot),and anytime Duke vs UNC in hoops is on it's a must see game,IMO.

Im a fan and watch a good bit of basketball but my level of what i watch has dropped noticeably. Still dont miss any Heels games but three things contribute tome watching less........

More options of other things to do

Too damn many games on. You cant change a channel more than 3 times without finding a game no matter what time you try it.

The really good players are gone and the ones that are still there are more concerned with being on Sports Center than playing basketball

enjoying Carolina losing so far to Maimi.  I liked how Roy pulled the starters and inserted 5 walk ons to teach them a lesson

Yep. I'm 38, been a Duke fan for over 30 years. Every jackball around here was a Tarhole fan, so I just had to be different, and thank GOD I made that decision..

Yeah, the ACC tourney was THE event when I was a kid...still sort of is in my house, but overall, yeah, it's not the draw it used to be.

There are several empty seats to be seen every year, and that used to never be the case.  I'm sure those are sold seats, but it's still strange to see them unoccupied during ACC tournament games.

One thing that hurt it IMO is when they started moving it out of Greensboro and taking it to Florida, Maryland, Atlanta, etc...that tourney NEVER should have been played outside of Greensboro..killed the momentum. It's better now that it's back, but like you said, there's some empty seats...

It's also that the ACC for the most part is a 2 team conference. We all know that other than Duke or NC, no team really has much going for them. Georgia Tech, Maryland, and NC State are no longer thought of/producing like top 25 teams they used to be.

even though I dont know the players , nor do I follow hardcore , I like the spirit of the games and teams and the aura . Looks like the kids playing are having alot of fun , and not getting paid for it .

I like all the original big east teams and I like watching March Madness . To me , much more exciting than the NBA .

Each game in the tourney is do or die , and alot of games are buzzer beaters and dramatic .

They need to make some sort of tourney like this for college football as well .

Oh yeah , Im a big pervert and enjoy the young cheerleaders and the hotties in the crowd too , just sayin .

Shameless name drop: Even having been related to Rick Pitino for a while (brother in law to his sister-in-law for 11 years) I don't follow college hoops.
