Just saw a pic of Bobby Heenan and Paul Ellering over at Slam Wrestling.

Not ashamed to say it nearly brought me to tears. Grew up watching the AWA and even though Bobby was the "heel" manager if you were a fan of wrestling er excuse me "soap operas for men" you couldn't help but respect him. He made every match he wrestled in or managed a wrestler in atreat to watch even as you were screaming for the opponent to rip his head off.

Hadn't seen a picture of him lately and it's so sad to see what time and the ravages of illness have done to someone I remember as so robust and full of life.

I'm sure most of you have seen it but I can't bring myself to post it here.

It was sad and shocking, yet he also looked to be in good spirits in the photo's as well.

He'll never see this, but I do wish him the best of health and luck.

Sadly, those of us in the AWA clique have gotten used to increasingly worse-looking pictures of the Brain as he (bless him) continues to appear at fan events.

Here's the link to SLAM. There's a photo gallery, just click on
K&S Wrestlefest.
You won't recognize Salvatore Bellomo. Molly Holly looks great.

No doubt Molly still looks amazing.

Good to see Steamboat looking well

Bobby didnt actually look as bad as I had feared. It is so sad what illness has done to him but he really does seem to at least be in good spirts. God bless the Brain

Amazing George South didnt have a Jesus shirt on like he usually does at these things

I'm just glad to see "The Brain" out and about after the decade he's had.

He's a fighter no doubt.

"The Brain" was the best by far in no less than three major promotions* had to offer (Bruiser's Chicago, AWA proper and WWF/E).  Just glad to see him still acknowledging the base he helped build.  As long as he is able and willing to travel and appear, God love him for it.

He insulted me at a booksigning a few years back, and I still consider that a personal highspot.

*no inviting a debate as to the phrase "major"

Hadn't looked at all the pictures till just now:

From the neck up April Hunter looks like a man. From the neck down, if those were inflated any more everybody in the place would have had a milk bath.

Lex Luger looks sick, as in ill. Too many roids I guess.

Totally agree on Sal Bellomo

Neidharts boobs almost as big as April Hunters

Len Denton still looks like he could go. Oh how I miss masked men.

What the hell is a Jun Kasai?

Does Smith Hart ever look like the old man!

And one final thought....Molly looks delicious!

super  nice person too.  I think I told this story before but an old buddy of mine daughter was a big fan of hers. Sent her a fan mail which also included a birthday/graduation invitation. Molly Holly on the way to a convention stopped by her house to surprise her.

Barry Hardy did many a job in WWF/E in the 80's, and in tags more often than not his partner was Duane Gill aka Gillberg.

He used to team with Duane Gill (Gillberg) way back in the early 90s.  They also did some tags under masks IIRC.  They had similar bleached blond hair with dark roots and they approximated a couple of skunk-like grapplers.

Hardy even had a short cup of coffee in ECW... But I'll always remember him as the partner of Gill.

They also doubled under masks as The Executioners - Pain & Agony - the least successful of the Executioner pairings...

I had the same reaction...I was real sad to see that.

I'll be meeting Animal at his book signing tonight here in town as a matter of fact

Molly looks great
