$3.89 for the cheap stuff it went up 6 cents overnight. I am sure due to "speculation" and "uncertainty". I think this pricepoint is about where it really starts hurting (me at least) - having to put money in the gas tank everyday.

I see we have a "gas price task force" now in place I can't imagine what that all becomes.

What are ya'll paying?

$1.35 per litre, which comes out to about $5.20 per gallon. I commute to work every day so it hurts.

$4.36 in town here, most stations on the way to work are between $4.29-$4.35, one is $4.15 and has a line that goes four cars deep most of the time.  Maybe I'm over-privileged, but I feel that my time is worth way more than the $2.50 that I'll save on a tankful by waiting in line for fifteen minutes.

Don't be quick to dismiss the impact of speculators on this.  They have paid millions of dollars in PR coverage and ads to keep the investigations at bay.  You know...the story about how this is all a product of being in a capitalistic society and that the speculators are just looking out for the shareholders.  This is true while everybody else is being raped by the prices.

I refuse to buy fuel here in North Carolina, their taxes are the highest around this whole region, and since I travel all throguhout the week I have the option of filling up in one of the border States.

My last unleaded was $3.66 in South Carolina, but diesel fuel is 3.99 at its cheapest and I've seen it going for $4.79 up north in Pennsylvania and New York (greedy bastards)

Regular unleaded here in Lincolnton,NC is going for 3.79 a gallon right now,I saw that last night when I made a beer run.

Up to $3.89 after the weekend, passed one (Exxon) selling at $4.06 in Morrisville and if I remember right there were wild fluctuations in 2007 as the price kept rising or when it came down a little some stations kept the high price up a day or two longer than the others.

California the tax is 66 cents a gallon.  I'm down 66 cents as soon as I lift up the nozzle.

I did forget to add I coulda hit up a Clark station near me for some post Osama killed $3.46/gallon, but that station also recently re-opened after having damaged 12 vehicles have issues after water got into the tanks, and instead of replacing the tanks, they simply welded a patch over the section where water leaked into the tank.  This was also the 4th time in the past 5 yrs that station has had water in their gas tank

Futures are down, inventory is high, demand down 2%

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Oil futures settled at their lowest level in two weeks Wednesday after a report showed U.S. oil supplies rose more than expected last week, confirming doubts that demand is keeping up with supply.

A disappointing reading on U.S. nonmanufacturing activity also raised concerns about weak U.S. fuel demand, weighing on prices.

Light, sweet crude for June delivery settled down $1.81, or 1.6%, at $109.24 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange settled down $1.26, or 1%, to $121.19 a barrel.

Oil inventories rose 3.4 million barrels last week, the Department of Energy said in its closely watched report on U.S. oil and fuel product inventories. Oil supplies have been climbing steadily in recent months as refineries switch gears to ramp up gasoline production for the summer driving season. But the increase was greater than the 2 million-barrel build expected from analysts, signalling less demand from refiners.

"This inventories report is not encouraging any buying," said Matt Smith, oil analyst at Summit Energy in Louisville, Ky.

Gasoline stockpiles fell 1 million barrels, while inventories of distillates, including heating oil and diesel, fell 1.4 million barrels, according to the DOE's Energy Information Administration.

Analysts predicted gasoline stocks would rise 100,000 barrels. They were looking for distillate stocks to climb 400,000 barrels.

Oil prices were lower throughout the day, beginning their steep drop after the Institute for Supply Management said the U.S. nonmanufacturing sector grew less than expected last month. Oil traders are closely scrutinizing reports on economic activity in the U.S., the world's largest crude consumer, and any sign that the recovery is not on track tends to weigh on prices.

The ISM's nonmanufacturing purchasing managers' index dropped to 52.8 last month from 57.3 in March. Forecasters surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had expected the April PMI to slip to 57.0. Readings above 50 indicate expanding activity.
"We are moving on growth and if there is none, there goes oil," said Carl Larry, director of energy derivatives and research at Blue Ocean Brokerage in New York.
Crude on the Nymex has fallen more than 4% this week as concerns about U.S. demand levels have come into focus. The decline comes amid signs that consumers are starting to cut back on gasoline purchases as pump prices close in on the psychologically important threshold of $4 a gallon. A gallon of regular on Wednesday, on average, cost $3.98 a gallon, according to auto club AAA.

The EIA report showed gasoline demand last week fell 2.2%. For the full month of April, gasoline demand fell 1.9%--the biggest drop in four-week demand levels in more than a year.

On Tuesday, a SpendingPulse report released by MasterCard Advisors LLC showed U.S. weekly gasoline demand fell 1% last week.

Crude could see further losses later this week if additional readings on the U.S. economy fail to impress. The Labor Department's April nonfarm payrolls report, the most closely watched reading on U.S. hiring, is due Friday.

"This market has a lot of hot air between here and $106.75, so we're really going to drift lower," said Tony Rosado, a broker with GA Global Markets.

Front-month June reformulated gasoline blendstock, or RBOB, settled down 0.69 cent, or 0.2%, to $3.3225 a gallon. June heating oil settled down 4.78 cents, or 1.5%, to $3.1430 a gallon.

$3.89 today.  Price of crude keeps dropping ($97)

Anyone thinking this applies? (below)

"Price fixing is an arrangement in which several competing businesses make a secret agreement to set prices for their products to prevent real competition. It is a criminal violation of federal antitrust statutes.Price fixing also includes secret setting of favorable prices between suppliers and favored manufacturers or distributors to beat the competition."

Yep. Just heard on KFI today., that they're "expecting gas prices to continue to fall within the next few weeks. We could see to as low as $3.00 a gallon, and possibly even lower"...I doubt that happens mind you. It sure would be nice.

2 weeks ago here it was $3.56, today it was $3.95 at 7:30am when I came back from Walmart, and at 2pm, it was $4.01.  So in 6 1/2 hours, something happened in the supply chain to cause a 6 cent rise.  I assume some Saudi Prince woke up without an erection and had to see the doctor, thus the scare of him never being able to fuck any of his many wives caused a shock to the system

One thing I've learned from working in this industry, for way too damn long, is that generally the price of gas lowers or raises, somewhat by the price per barrel of oil.

This price normally takes effect 6 to 8 weeks afterwards so just because you see that it lowered doesn't mean it takes effect the next day.

Yesterday morning gas here was $3.98, then around 3pm there was a fire at the BP Refinery in Whiting, and by 5 pm gas was $4.06.

This morning, gas was $4.06still

Of course the fire had nothing to do with the spike in price.

Was in Virginia over the weekend, it was 3.32.  On the NJ Turnpike it was 3.56 I think.  In Stamford CT it is 3.83, and where I live in a town with one gas station it's been 4.19 for the past three months with no movement.  It hasn't been below 4.00 in my town in around a year and a half.

I got $1.92 last week in Orlando. Around here in Southern CT it's been around $2.29 but if you drive 40 minutes north it's as low as $1.98. My neighborhood still has the balls to charge $2.89 but nobody is going to them, ever.

I drive a Ford Focus station wagon. In 2013 I was paying $45 to fill it up with regular. Now I am paying no more than $28. It is amazing how that price drop can affect your pocket so positively...I can afford to buy lunch again instead of packing lunch every single day.

In Cincinnati gas was $1.64 this morning. I never thought I'd see the day when gas was under $2.50 again, and anything under $2 just feels like I'm stealing.

My father has an empty 330 gallon oil tank, and he was thinking about getting a delivery of gas while the price is so low, just to save for when the price jumps above $3 again.

Oil is in the crapper along with the CDN dollar and gas prices are shooting up to 1.09 per litre here. Fuck this economy.

Should've moved South when I had the chance.

Just to help out my fellow Yankees who don't live on the border, at $1.09 a liter, with the current exchange rate, they're paying $2.99 a gallon. At 79.9 cents, they're paying about $2.19. But if you think the Canucks are getting off too easy, don't worry. They just elected a full-blown socialist as PM. He'll do what he can to make sure gas prices are more European in nature. Just give him some time.

My thing is I drive so little that I put a flat 40 bucks in every 2 weeks or so, so I honestly don't pay much attention to the price. The drive to the Reserve is too out of my way to think about when I only consume a minimal amount of gas.

If I was going through a tank a week, maybe I would.

Kroger gave me 500 fuel points (worth .50 off/gallon) and had saved another 400 points, so I got 900 points towards my purchase of a full tank tonight.
Supreme Gas-$2.18/gallon - .90/gallon = $1.18/gallon. Very happy!

Nah, it's just life under leftists.  I'm sure that plenty of those feeling the Bern think that $2.59 is just too damn cheap.

We're still at $2.09 here in Western New York, although I paid $1.42 at the rez last week.

On the plus side, milk was only $1.35 a gallon at Aldi the other day.  If only I could fill my car with low-fat.

Westchester County, NY is getting about $2.24 on average, and southern CT is between $2.05 and $2.19.

I'm impressed most about your milk price.  I just paid $3.99 a gallon and it's the cheapest I've paid in about a year.  Haven't been into Aldi in about 6 months but now I'm going to check over the weekend.

There's just something about our area and milk.  Even in Buffalo, 45 minutes away, they pay closer to $3 a gallon.  My cousin in the Albany area is paying even more than that.  I'm guessing it's just our proximity to the upstate dairy industry.  Here in Chautauqua County dairy farms are fairly widespread.  Milk's generally around $1.79-$1.99, so there must have been a recent glut.  A few weeks ago, I was in Aldi and they had a couple racks of milk that were only about a week out from expiration and they were selling it for $0.59 a gallon.

We dropped as low as 1.89, with an average around 1.95, that ended probably Wednesday.

Now, I've found yesterday as low as 1.99, with the average being about 2.10 and the max being 2.49.

Milk is still around 3.99, unless I go to Trader Joe's where it's 2.99 but never has more than 6 days left on the date.

So, from a low of $1.99 in the winter, we went up to $2.55. Now we're down to $2.35. On the rez, gas went from the low $1.40's to over $2 before dropping again. Last weekend I was able to buy at $1.57 a gallon.

During the summer, gas locally topped out at 2.99 and then stayed fairly stable for months. It's now dropped down to 2.69. On the rez, the lowest price approached 2.50 during the summer but I bought it for 1.69 the other day, a full dollar lower than non-Indian prices.

$2.67 where I am in CT. Was in Orlando last month and saw $2.43 in Disney so I'd assume the Racetrax outside of Disney was about 15 cents cheaper as it usually is.

Yeah, but the denizens of those fine states are paying a little bit more to save the world, so it's all good.  Not like those greedy fuckers in Texas, grasping at every last penny in the disgusting hope that they'll have more money to take care of themselves and their families.

I saw mostly $2.14 around Minneapolis and near suburbs today. A few days ago it was as low as $2.02. There is a BP station that is relatively close, but out of my way, that has the cheapest gas in this part of town. It had it as low as $1.99 for sure at one time and might have gone a bit lower.

Yeesh! The last time I paid under 3.29 was decades ago. Paid 3.59 two weeks ago and I thought that was cheap. Doesn't help that there is a .70 per gallon gas tax already added at the pumps.
