McMahon vs Austin was a great success. But it led to ten years of evil GMs, commissioners, ownership battles, Presedencies and so forth. A creative rut.

David Arquette. An advertisement for being bush league on many levels. Treating the belt as bush league, putting it on a bush league celebrity, making bush league inroads into mainstream media, etc.

Exactly... WCW was an internal mess.

When I said it was shit piled on top of shit, I was only partially correct.

In preparing to convert some tapes to DVDs, I'm having to put a date on some of them. I just knew some of these were from 1999-00 but not exactly when.

The last tape I went through was from November 26 to December 16. That was brutal. Absolutely brutal. I had put most of it out of my mind.

What was going on in December 1999?

Madusa, Rhonda Singh, Creative Control, Russo at his desk, Nitro girls being wrestlers, Duggan the janitor, boiler room brawls, Jerry Flynn, Oklahoma. Chavo selling Amway is about this period as is tequila on a pole. I had the sound turned off so it might have been on this tape.

The only highlights are the Mamalukes and psycho David Flair. Wow, what highlights.

THIS killed WCW. Even watching with the fastforward button and stopping only determine the tape count nearly made me go bury this monstrosity in the backyard and hope it didn't grow arms to attack me in the night.

How could Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn think Kevin Sullivan could be worse? Kevin Sullivan's wrath couldn't be any more demeaning than the shit that Russo put on TV during this time period.

This just gave me the shivers.

I say it's way, way earlier.  Taking the keys from Bill Watts and having Eric Bischoff wind up in charge.

Yes Bischoff engineered the heights they'd reach, but at a cost that killed the company.  Watts was saving money and putting on a great, interesting, compelling product.

It all started when Crockett sold out to Turner. Over a period of time it just snowballed. Just my opinion but WWE is nothing more thana joke, always has been always will dating back to the WWF years. Vince is nothing more than idiot and I regard him as nothing more than a clown.
