Which leads us to the "World's First Bungee Match" in GWF, which was also the World's Last Bungee Match.

Didn't Lawler and Dundee have matches where Dundee's wife would get her head shaved if he lost (and he did)? That was a unique twist on the usual hair vs hair match.

Also all those wacky Japanese pirahana tank matches too.

retroken wrote: the WWWF had a bunch of Sicilian Stretcher matches in the 70s- pretty bizarre as the loser would have to be unconscious and be carried out of the ring in a stretcher in order for the match to end-  Bruno had several vs. Stasiak and others, Graham defended his belt in a couple and so did Backlund (vs. Graham and vs. Slaughter I believe)  I think it was a Philadelphia thing

In all seriousness: Have you watched wrestling since then?  There have been plenty of stretcher matches over the last few decades.

They haven't been Sicilian Stretcher matches though Bix. ;) Totally different than other stretcher matches.

Didn't Gorgeous George and Whipper Watson do the 'wife's hair match' thing in the 50s after George lost a hair match?

They did the wife Cherie's hair match in 1961.

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling had a rather offensively named match during a feud with Rufus R Jones vs Blackjack Mulligan in 1976. The match was a    Cotton Field Match.   The stip was there would be a 30 second rest after the fall was scored, the referee would leave and the winner would have 2 minutes to do what he wanted to the loser

I saw this in Georgia first then later in the AWA.

A two out of three falls  tag match with a 3rd team member handcuffed to the ring post.  If you win a fall then you get to unlock your partner and wrestle 3 vs. 2.

I believe it was Lawler and Idol with Bundy handcuffed in the corner vs. The Road Warriors with Ellering in the corner.

In the AWA it was the El Kaissey's guys (Blackwell and Brody with Abdullah in the corner maybe) vs. maybe Crusher and Baron with Mad Dog in the corner or maybe Dick the Bruiser.

Somebody help me out on the AWA match.  It's pissing me off.

Anyone else remember this stip?
