So, I very rarely get excited about new shows, especially network shows. I just wait until the season is over and if I hear good things about it then I wait until the library gets the season in on DVD and borrow it.

I've been seeing the commercials for this new show 'Alcatraz' being shown a lot the last month or so during the football games and it now has my attention.

Anyone else interested in seeing this? Has anyone heard anything about it yet, the premise, how many episodes have been made for season 1?

I think I'm going to check it out. The only thing though is it premiers tomorrow night at 9:00Pm EST and is a 2 hour premiere. It's running up against RAW, which I've actually become interested in again the last couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to flip back and forth. One good thing is I have no interest in seeing Perez Hilton, unless Vince and Co; go out of their way to embarrass and shoot on him in the ring.

Does this new show have "sci-fi" elements like 'Lost' did?

Actually I think it premieres at 8 eastern so would only bump against the first hour of Raw.......although being against Raw isnt a hindrance to me watching it at all lol. I myself think this show looks really cool. I think it is either going to hit instantly or turn people totally off. I am in the "looking forward to it" camp

I'll DVR it and give it a shot. I'm hoping I like it because network TV dramas have sucked since Lost.

I just hope halfway through the season, they do not forget the plotline and change the shows premise like what happened on Terra Nova

There were a million commercials for it during the game tonight, it seemed like "Lost in Jail". That might just be because the fat guy from Lost is in it.

That's pretty accurate (from the previews).

How does someone remain that fat in jail?  Then again, how does someone remain that fat stranded on a deserted island?

This may not be the best time to tell you guys that when the prisoners vanished from Alcatraz, they ended up in the Tunisian desert.

Actually on Lost they explained why Hurley never really lost weight.  At some point prior to them discovering the hatch which led to season 2, he had found a stash of Dharma food and had been eating it but not sharing it.  Of course that begs the question why the other survivors didnt beat the living fuck out of him for not sharing when they found that out

He's not playing a prisoner on the show.  He's playing a comic book fan and Alcatraz history enthusiast.

Weren't Libby and Sawyer the only ones that knew about Hurley's stash?  Libby had her obvious reasons for not letting everyone know, and Sawyer used his knowledge for leverage, and it was obvious early on he had a soft spot for Hurley.

Only thing thats confusing to me about it, is they keep mentioning 350 prisoners are back....does that mean, theyve re opened the "inescapable" prison? Will it end like the real Alcatraz did? Ill watch it tomorrow, I just hope the premise is good.
