G: I've heard Khabibulin from Edmonton (I'll fucking throw something at the TV if that goes down)

D: Kubina out of Tampa is rumoured.

C: Derek Roy out of Buffalo is a distinct possibility.

The way the hawks have went into free-fall, I hope any moves they do make are small, as it looks like a large part of the supporting cast on that team needs to be blown up in the off-season. the chemistry has been off all year, and once Hossa, Toews, Kane and Sharp hit a wall, their defensive shortcomings were exposed even more than early in the year. early in the year they were winning the 6-4 games, not losing them.

I'd rather they miss the playoffs and rebuild it all next year (preferably with a new GM) than make two or three moves, sacrifice some young talent and get into the playoffs in 7th or 8th. They won't advance past the first round this time out..or even make their first round series close, like last year.

The streaky Hawks have now won 4 in a row!!

So much for the winning streak. The Hawks blew it last night in the 3rd period. With Toews hurt, another long win less streak might commence.

The problem the Hawks have is that they can afford to spin their wheels for a few weeks. They aren't in imminent danger of missing the playoffs whre they sit (6th), but they have no shot at catching anyone above them.

The longer Toews is out, the more they will lose. No team misses one guy as much as the Hawks miss Toews.

I don't think Stan Bowman has the balls to make a "big" deal. Dumbass will probably just bring Chris Campoli back. **vomits**

I am hoping the Rangers don't trade their young guys for Nash, as Hack had stated this was not suppposed to be our year anyways. I've read in the NY papers that if the Rangers play like shit offensively in the next two games that Slats is going to pull the trigger.

Tampa now has 2 1st round picks & 3 2nd round picks in this year's  draft

I liked Quincey when he was in Detroit a few years ago.

Giving up a first rounder for him, while tempered with the knowledge that it'll be pick 26-30 or so, still seems like an awful lot to give up for Quincey.

It's what Detroit always does. They draft so well in the later rounds it doesn't matter.

IIRC their last Stanley Cup team only had 1 guy drafted in the first three rounds and that was Danny Cleary, who wasn't even drafted by Detroit.

Devils finally trade for Marek Zidlicky

I think that Sweet Lou overpaid a little for a Guy who wasn't even playing in Minny.

Panthers pick up Faceoff specialist Jerred Smithson from Nashville for a 2012 6th round pick.

Better than an "underwater specialist" I suppose.

I guess there's room for guys like Craig MacTavish after all.

NYR trade Wojtek Wolski to FLA for defenceman Mike Vernace and a 3rd round pick in 2013.

Sounds like the Rags are going after Nash. Way to go Slats, kill that chemisty!

The St. Louis Blues have dealt goaltender Ben Bishop to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2nd round selection in the 2013 entry draft.

The Senators have signed Bishop to a one-year, one-way contract.

The 25-year-old netminder has put up exceptional numbers with the American Hockey League's Peoria Rivermen this season.

The Blues were forced into making a decision on the 25-year-old netminder due to the team's crowded crease. With All-Star Brian Elliott and 2010-11 starter Jaroslav Halak still under contract, the 6'7" Bishop was in danger of becoming a Group 6 unrestricted free agent this off-season.

Bishop was originally drafted in the third round (85th overall) by the Blues at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Denver, Colorado native hasn't played an NHL game since March 7 of last year.

Good deal for Ottawa. I like Bishop's game and He's a decent backup.

David Boclair of the Nashville City Paper:

Confirmed tonight that Nashville has made a "massive" offer for Nash, rumored to include Colin Wilson, Ryan Ellis, Anders Lindback and high picks.

That is ALOT for Nash. That means one of Weber or Suter won't be back.

Wolski needed to go to ditch salary and couldn't crack the lineup anyway.

They may in fact go for Nash, but it may play out with less of a package than Columbus originally wanted. Once Carter is gone and they've gutted their team, moving Nash is more of a priority to Columbus than bringing him to NY is for Slats. Of course, Dolan could fuck up the whole poker game and just cave. I'd not be surprised by that in the least.

I know ESPN sucks for hockey, but it seems like the Rangers are out of the running for Nash according to them.  I think Nashville is offering the most for him now.  The rumor is Colin Wilson, Jonathan Blum, or Ryan Ellis, plus top prospects and a top draft pick.

It's interesting because getting Nash would probably mean Shea Weber or Ryan Sutter would be gone, as I think they are both free agents after the season, and there's no way they could afford all 3 of those guys.

For what it's worth - TSN and Sportsnet are reporting the same thing.

This. Kenny Holland knows what he's doing & has 4 SC rings to prove it. The Wings ALWAYS find gems in later rounds, thats why IMO, hes the best GM in the league.

One of the NYC radio guys said on Saturday that the Rangers and Columbus have agreed to a trade and that Nash will be a Ranger at 3pm Monday. He's broken quite a few stories, but take it with a grain of salt
