Been on the computer a lot this week due to a sprained ankle, so I've got a 'Who's better?'.

If you take away their style and look, I think you find a lot of similarities.

Who's your pick?

Far and away for me it's The Hammer, never thought much of Muraco.

From the Sunset Beach of Hawaii.....The Magnificent Muraco.

Muraco seemed to move better in the ring, and he also seemed to be able to adapt to his opponent to make the matches interesting.  Hell, he made Hogan look good during their matches.

In regards to the mic and personality, Muraco.

Valentine was very good but in terms of entertainment value, I would take Muraco.

Very close, almost a coin toss.  Valentine probably gets the slight nod for ring work but Muraco was the better overall performer including mic work and entertainment value.  Muraco at his best was a poor man's Roddy Piper, but he wasn't always at his best.

This is really quite a toss up for me... Both were really solid in their earlier days, but I gotta go Muraco... His interviews were always good, and I thought he was great in the ring up until around 1985-ish.

You cant go wrong with either guy but I go Valentine here. Someone pointed it out earlier that you dont ALWAYS get the best Muraco. Valentine resembles that remark in recent years but during his prime, I think Valentine took less nights off than Muraco did. Still you cant go wrong with either of them.

It's almost a toss up for me which is why I asked the question.

I'll go for Muraco due to entertainment value and promos.

When Muraco was on, he was quite a bit better than Greg. Muraco carried a well past his prime Pedro Morales to the best matches of Morales post WWWF title run. He had a series of awesome 60 minute broadways with Backlund around the horn in '81. His series with Snuka was one of the top feuds of the 80's.

Valentine also had a tremendous series against Backlund and carried the mediocre Jay Strongbow through an exciting program in 1979. Valentine also probably had better success in other territories overall than Muraco did.

Muraco was head and shoulders better on the mic but Valentine had a tremendous calm, subtle heel style especially for his first run against Backlund.

I like both of them, but give the nod to Muraco because I liked his gimmick better. Unlike many of today's stars, both of them look like they could kill you with their bare hands. Muraco vs Snuka... classic

Has to be Muraco. He was 'roided beyond belief, had a cool gimmick, and didn't he once eat a sandwich while he was destroying some jobber?

Thought Valentine was boring, and was always bothered by the squareness of his head.

Plus, when Valentine was Johnny Fargo, he and Donnie Fargo (Don Kalt) sadistically kicked the shit out of a jobber on TV. Supposedly everyone else was pissed at them for the lack of professionalism.
