Portillo's has a great beef sandwich. A lot of people don't know that Browns Chicken uses the same beef as Portillo's.

Has anyone tried Al's Italian beef sandwich? Saw it on the Travel Channel, looks great

I enjoyed Mike Ditka's Steakhouse when I was there. We sat at the bar and ate and drank all night, and I could barely walk the two blocks back to my hotel. By the way, never stay at the James Hotel, I may as well have slept on the sidewalk the bed was so hard. And there were also three steps down into the room...not a good combo when you're drunk.

This time of year going to Al's is double good. Right across the street is Mario's Italian Ice stand with about 50-60 different flavors.

Will likely hit a ball game, a bunch of touristy shit, Give the wife my wallet so she can look at outlets, eat my weight in sanwiches and drink enough beer to fill a small pool. As an aside, a friend asked if I would mind stopping in Benton Harbour to drop off a package for him. I told him to go fuck himself.

broke wrote: Will likely hit a ball game If you go to a Cubs game, avoid at all costs sitting in the 200 level seats. They are at the rear of the lower deck and between the upper deck's overhang and the luxury box's hanging beneath it, you won't see the sky or the rooftops and will get the sensation of watching baseball from a darkened cave. If something spendier that puts you further towards the front of the lower deck isn't possible, then go with the upper deck and the 400 and 500 level seats, the former especially. I also recommend the bleachers. The lack of attention paid to the game due to the party atmosphere of drinking and girl watching isn't for everyone. However, with the team playing so badly, the secondary market prices likely aren't as high as in most years. You'll have fun too. If you go to a White Sox game, avoid upper deck tickets. It's very steep and you won't be allowed access to the lower deck. The views from the lower deck are pretty good and the food at Comiskey is superior to that available at Wrigley. Just sit downstairs. Last edited on Fri Aug 24th, 2012 08:18 pm by tamalie |
