He was 79 years old. One of the first wrestlers I saw in Omaha. Provided plenty of great moments there, and everywhere else he wrestled.

Just notice I misspelled Vachon. Although I have seen it spelled that way over the years.

BONG

He told a great story on the "Wrestling with the Past" TV show about one time that Mad Dog joined him and Butcher down in Georgia to face the Torres brothers. RIP.

I get a little annoyed ... Bobby Jaggers dies, and gets on all the news sites. Eric Pomeroy dies, who was a star for longer and a main event fixture (albeit in a smaller territory of Omaha) and Meltzer hasn't mentioned it, it's not on PWInsider, etc.

Thank you for posting it here at least.

I read a lot about him in the magazines of the day but never saw him in person in Chicago.

You think they'd have brought a 3rd Vachon Brother up in the AWA but they missed the boat on that one.

RIP Mr. Pomeroy

I have been (and still am) fascinated regarding the "3" Vachon Brothers and their epic matches against the 3 Torres brothers (Enrique, Ramon, Alberto) in Georgia during the late 60's. Then less than two years later all but Enrique ended up in the AWA/Omaha from 1970 and on. Stan was a heel Vachon in Georgia, but a face Pulaski in Omaha.

RIP to the goofy Newf.
Saw him in the Maritimes, where he was a heel for Al Zinck's promotion.
Had great feuds with Leo Burke, the Beast, Abe Jacobs & the Stomper (Gouldie).
