The best I ever saw has to be Doctor X aka The Destroyer (Beyer). Second best would be Super Destroyer aka The Spoiler (Jardine). As for foreign fuckers, It's tough to top Jushin Liger.

Loved the masked guys for their mystique.  Never saw Beyer live, but I did get to see The Super Destroyer.  Awesome.  Always loved Bill Eadie as the Masked Superstar.

Most masked gimmicks were so transient that very few of them ever took hold.  The mask always seemed to be a temporary gimmick for most guys.

best Beyer footage is the All Japan matches against Abby and/or the Sheik where he bleeds through his (white) mask

Masked Superstar for me too with Mil Mascaras being a close second.

For newer guys I used to like Mysterio now I'm kind of tired of him.

Masked Superstar was my first favorite wrestler period, when I was almost still a toddler and just starting to watch.

I'll show my Tennessee pedigree...the Galaxians/Nightmares. Ken Wayne and Danny Davis were great together.

Pre- Filthy Animals and I agree. When WCW gave Rey those stupid horns on his unmasked head, it really sucked.

My favorite masked wrestlers are Sweet Brown Sugar(Skip Young), El Sicodelico and La Parka. Favorite masked tag team would be The Grapplers(Len Denton & Tony Anthony).

Hell of a nice guy too.
He'll talk to you all night.

This.

I don't know exactly what it was but Jody Hamilton just had that no-nonsense approach about him, sorta like a Ole Anderson.

Masked Superstar was a close 2nd IMO but Hamilton was just a shade better.
