Amen.

Buds with 2 more points last night.  They basically have to get 50% of the available points from here on out to end the 9 year playoff drought.  Seems likely.  And with the Habs and Sens likely to also make the playoffs, we might have an intriguing first round matchup.

Leafs are 7th in overall NHL standings.

He's basically got stiffs as linemates and he's still leading the team with 21 points.  Three clear of Brayden Schenn, whom Burkie had such a hard-on for.  Considering Kadri was the consolation prize in that draft, I'm pleased.  He's got an attitude on him that's good to see and I think he'll settle into a solid career as a second or possibly first line regular.

Great third goal last night, too.  Kid's got some sick skills.

I'd rather have Brayden Schenn. He will be better in the long run and actaully plays defense.

Any timetable for Lupul's return? That can only help at this point with Kadri emerging, and Van Riemsdyk playing well.

Hawks beat Colorado 3-2 on a goal by Dan Carcillo with less than a minute to go in the 3rd period. Toews earlier tied it up at 2 with a shorthanded goal. Marian Hossa missed the game due to the proverbial upper body injury. Patrick Sharp left the game in the 3rd period with another upper body injury possibly his collarbone. Ray Emery got the win in net. Good comeback victory by the Hawks.

You say he'll be better in the long run.  Based on what?  You imply that Kadri doesn't play defense.  Again, based on what?

Big signing today as Anaheim re-signed Center Ryan Getzlaf to a 8 year extension worth $ 66 million. It's almost certain now that Anaheim will have to move 2010-11 NHL MVP Corey Perry due to salary cap reasons.

from tsn.ca:

The Anaheim Ducks have locked Ryan Getzlaf in for the long-term.

The team announced Friday afternoon that they have signed their captain to an eight-year contract extension with an annual average value of $8.25 million. The extension carries a total value of $66 million.

"This is a wonderful day for my family, as Anaheim has become our home," said Getzlaf, a native of Saskatchewan. "The fans here have treated me very well, and I look forward to being part of a winning hockey team and contributing to the Orange County community for years to come."

Getzlaf was slated to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2012-13 season.

“He has often expressed his interest to stay in Anaheim for his entire career, a goal we share," said Ducks general manager Bob Murray. "He is a leader, a proven winner, and possesses a skill set that's hard to find. This is a great day for the Ducks.”

In 22 games so far in 2013 the 27-year-old Getzlaf has scored nine goals and 18 assists.

Originally selected in the first round (19th overall) in 2003 by Anaheim, Getzlaf has scored 147 and 353 assists for 499 points in 534 career regular season games with the Ducks. He has appeared in 62 career playoff games with the Ducks, scoring 18 goals and 35 assists. He won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007.

Getzlaf has represented Canada internationally at the 2010 Olympics, scoring three goals and four assists in seven games with Canada's gold medal-winning men's team. He has also represented Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2004 and 2005, winning gold in his second tournament. He has also represented Canada at the IIHF World Championships in 2008 and 2012, winning silver in 2008.

Sharpie out 3 to 4 weeks. Hossa will play tonight against Colorado.

Sh*t - I've got him in 2 of my Fantasy Hockey Leagues. He's become even more valuable in Fantasy Leagues ever since Yahoo made him a 3 position player a couple of weeks ago. :X

Chicago's streak might be ending tonight. Colorado leads 4-1 with 8 minutes left in the 2nd period. Crawford has not looked good tonight letting in 4 goals so far on only 16 shots.

It's now 5-1 Colorado.

Hawks lost 6-2. Thank God I shut the game off when Colorado went up 2-1. I then jumped online and followed the game by checking the score on Yahoo Sports.

Bruins are beating the Flyers 3-0 late in the 2nd period.

Great start to the game as Boston scored on their 3rd, 4th and 5th shots in the 1st period.

Just watched a great game between the Leafs and The Pens. The Pens were up 3-1 after the first period. The Leafs rallied to tie it at 4 and the game eventually went to OT. Pens won in a shoot out. Malkin got hurt late in the 3rd period. Didn't play in OT. Being a Leafs fan must be difficult. Even when they play a really good game against a quality team, they only get a point out of it. When is the last time The Leafs won the cup? Mid 60s? I'll look it up.
