I would add The Verdict and drop maybe Wall Street or Iron Eagle. The Verdict was a really good story with a great star.

Fuck Ferris Bueller.  Fuck Jennifer Grey.  Fuck Matthew Broderick.  Fuck the supporting cast.  Fuck the studio who thought it was a good idea to put this piece of shit together.  Fuck the movie theaters who actually charged admission to this film.  Fuck the liberal media for promoting this film.  And Fuck Lars Ulrich.

No Raging Bull?  Please take off one of those message-y films like Platoon or The Color Purple and replace it with Raging Bull.

Iron Eagle was great and all, but where in the hell is First Blood and Rambo?  And I'm with KGB, no Raging Bull?  I get that it wasn't a big money maker, but it was a great film.  Much better than something like Tootsie.

Agree on "Raging Bull".

"E.T." is too iconic to be left off IMO, even if you thought it was overrated (which it was).

I had to look it up thinking it was '70s, but "The Shining" was realeased in 1980.

"Nightmare on Elm Street" seems like a no-brainer to me too.

Red Dawn merits inclusion for being the first movie to get a PG-13 rating, if nothing else. Well, that and it was a pretty good flick with a lot of future big name talent in it.

Yeah, any of these, plus "Fandango" belongs over "Iron Eagle".  The rest of the list is pretty solid, though.  If I had to choose 5 to drop for the ones mentioned above, I'd probably say, in order Iron Eagle, Ghostbusters (hated this flick, but I know it has tons of fans), Aliens (same commentary as Ghostbusters), Tootsie and Star Trek II.  I may also lobby for "Stripes", although I don't know what else I'd lop off.
