09/06/60 Tucson, AZ Lou Thesz vs. ?? This is not correct at all. There was an 8 man battle royal on the show, and the winner would face Thesz at a later date in a #1 Contender's match, to get a crack at the world title, now held by Edouard Carpentier. 08/21/35 Detroit, MI Louis Thesz vs. Abe Coleman This match did not happen. According to the 8/21/35 Detroit Free Press "The supporting card has been shifted about slightly, Abe Coleman will tackle Carl Hansen instead of Louis Thesz. The latter is in a St Louis hospital" ------------------- Actually, according to the results in the 8/22/35 Detroit Free Press, Coleman didn't work the show either. Carl Hansen defeated Sam Carter Main event had Orville Brown defeating Roland Kirchmeyer in 24 minutes -------------------------------- Strangely, Thesz wrestled on the 20th in Minneapolis, the 22nd in Cedar Rapids, and the 23rd in Des Moines.... weird Last edited on Fri Jan 22nd, 2021 10:34 pm by paulsosn |
