It's the only game in town here, except for Roses or Big Lots, and I definitely don't feel like driving 20 miles or so out of the way to get what i can at Wal Mart, so yeah, them sumbitches get a good bit of my money.

Walmart= 5 billion stores

Target= 78 stores

The law of averages etc etc.

I never read people complain about Target like they do Walmart, but I doubt that Target pays their employees much better.
The only difference I notice is that Target will have fewer items on a shelf, so they can space things out more than Walmart. People somehow think that's classier.

Ports is right, it's the law of averages.

I live in an area where I have enough options available where I don't have to stop at Walmart, so I don't. I do hit it up few times a year when I go on fishing trips since it'll be only thing available for miles around in some areas

G'day All,

I'm intrigued by this question because ... there are no Walmart stores in Australia. :)

Cheers!

I was there (in Australia) for 2 years, and nothing really can explain what a Walmart is.

Imagine a Big W populated by the entire population on Townsville.

I get the point, but that's a slight exaggeration.  It's 9,000 to 2,000 so while Walmart has 4 times as many locations, I feel like there are well over 4 times as many horror stories about Walmart.  Target is way too big to be flying under the radar if the same things happened there on any sort of consistent basis.

I'm also for thinking that since Walmart has "Sam's Club" which they charge people to shop at that they don't mind having the crack-denish Walmart bad press so they can remind folks WHY they pay for Sam's Club memberships.

The cliental of the local North Carolina Walmarts is like the bar scene from Star Wars or more like a indy wrestling show if it was free, because there are always more than 50 people in Walmart
