I would say 95% of the wrestling I watch anymore is through youtube.

It pretty much killed my disc buying. I can only think of one disc I've bought in the last 3-4 years. There's so much content available online there is really no point in going to the trouble of buying anymore.

I only watch wrestling on TV if it happens to on when I'm flipping channels. It's so much easier to look it up on youtube when I hear something interesting happened on one of the shows.

Was really wondering how it affects those of you who sell discs. Is there much of a market for anything anymore? I know in the mid to late 90s I would sometimes pay 12 to 15 bucks for a tape, if I wanted it bad enough. I know guys now sell stuff for a buck a disc. Was wondering if the volume is great enough to make that worthwhile. I hope so.

Unless someone specifically links me to a video, I rarely just click around on YouTube for anything.

Youtube hasn't affected the way I watch wrestling.

Now, the DVR.. That's a different story.

The bootlegs are great and You Tube is great too, but sooner or later, WWE is going to 'kill' it. Sure, they'll have their videos and footage up there, but it'll be 'their's' as in EDITED.

I watch more old time wrestling because of Youtube. If I want to see Nick Bockwinkel, I go to yt and type in Nick Bockwinkel.

I think YT is a great resource, but it doesn't have everything. I find more than anything that its like an appetizer, but if you want the main course you need to dive into the dvd trading community.

YT might have the May 22 1986 UWF episode, but after watching that you kinda want to see the next week, and it's not available.

We saw that great High Flyers vs. Martel/Santana match a week ago on YT, but now I want to see the entire series and the Martel/Brunzell match.

Maybe I'm too much of a completist.

Well you know where to go when you want that series. :)

There is a ton around that isn't on youtube and stuff goes up on youtube that has never been traded on dvd, too. It goes both ways. Wrestling on youtube can either get people interested in investigating footage outside of what is on there, or kill any interest in investigating outside of youtube because there is plenty there already for them.

I only look for particular matches on there.

I don't see the sense of buying a DVD for one match, even if it's cheap.  For example, why would you purchase Starcade '83 if the only match you like is the Piper/Valentine dog collar match?

Compilation wise, I pretty much buy DVDs though.

I watch it constantly, because back in the day the only wrestling on TV was yhe local area wrestling and I could only read about other areas in the "Apter" mags, for instance, I had no idea of just how great some of the old Mid South or AWA stuff was, and how other territories stacked up to the Mid Atlantic area.

My favorite to look up is Ernie Ladd, who was and still is my favorite on the microphone, and Nick Bockwinkle, who I am starting to think may have been the best I have ever seen in the ring.

It hasn't affected me in buying discs at all. I pretty much only use Youtube to see if a match exists or if a certain match happened. It actually makes me buy more discs once I find a hidden gem exists, then I have to search to see who has it.
